Some of BC's most prominent business people have been honoured with this award over the past 23 years. Each winner, a business star under 40, is profiled in Business in Vancouver and then honoured at a gala awards evening.

DESCRIPTION

Every year, Business in Vancouver highlights the achievement of BC's outstanding entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals in public or private business or in non-profit sectors. Winners are under 40 and are chosen based on such values as achievement, experience and innovation, vision, leadership, and community involvement and who have demonstrated excellence in business judgment, leadership and community contribution. The winners are announced in BIV's Special Forty under 40 issue distributed mid-December, 2012. A celebration award event in late January 2013 honours the winners.

Nominations

A panel of judges will first and foremost be looking for an individual's professional success. They are also interested in knowing about their education, community service, as well as participation in industry and business associations and other accolades and awards. They look for a cross-section of impressive people from a wide range of industries who are ahead of their time for their age. This means they've progressed up the ranks of their company or industry or have built their own company and demonstrated professional success and responsibility at a relatively young age. Nominations deadline is midnight on Friday July 20, 2012. Nominees must be under the age of 40 on December 31, 2012. Nominee's business must be headquartered in British Columbia.
