How to choose the right agency for you

•Prepare necessary background information

•Be clear about what type of proposal you are seeking from ad agencies

•Develop a timeline to allow for properly researched responses

•Limit the number of agencies invited to pitch to three (four if the incumbent is pitching)

•Share your market data and relevant research (confidentially) with pitching agencies

•Show your seriousness and commitment by offering a financial contribution

•Set up an objective evaluation system

•Make sure that the business side (contracts, remuneration and the management of the relationship) is discussed before an appointment is made

•As soon as possible, make your decision and inform all agencies of that decision

•Provide feedback to unsuccessful bidders and welcome the new agency into the fold. •
