In an effort to help Canadian wireless companies expand overseas, Wavefront has launched two initiatives aimed at building Canada’s reputation in the industry worldwide and taking advantage of revenue opportunities in Europe and Asia.
“The wireless market is experiencing explosive growth … the potential for wireless and machine-to-machine [M2M] service revenue is practically unlimited,” said Wavefront president James Maynard in a press release Monday.
The Canadian M2M mission to Northern Europe, put on in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, will take the top Canadian companies developing machine-to-machine technology to selected cities in Europe.
There they will have the opportunity to present their solutions and network with top tier carriers.
The second initiative aims to help connect Canadian business owners to the Japanese mobile market.
In partnership with the Mobile Computing Promotion Consortium of Japan, Wavefront will be offering free seminars in Vancouver and Toronto for interested companies to learn more about opportunities and connections in Japan.
Wavefront is a not-for-profit national centre of excellence set up to help local wireless companies move to commercialization.
