Events and parties are being held throughout Vancouver to mark the upcoming U.S. election. The events will be held at both notable venues like the Rio Theatre and bars around town.
The great majority of those gathering at these events, whether American or Canadian, are likely to be liberal politically given Vancouver’s liberal reputation. Democrats Abroad is hosting a party, but there’s no Republican equivalent here.
And the B.C. Lottery Corporation is taking wagers on the election’s outcome. More bets are being placed on Trump, but more money is being wagered on Clinton. And those who place a bet for Libertarian Gary Johnson could make big bank if he wins.
