Hosts Tyler Orton and Hayley Woodin start the show recapping the news stories that caught their eyes this past week:

• International auto makers are concerned about U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s talk of slapping tariffs on foreign auto imports to the U.S.

• Vancouver’s Trump hotel and tower downtown may open at the end of January. Will it be a symbol for the new U.S. administration and attract protests against Trump’s government?

• Tom Lee Music is moving from its iconic location on Granville Street to a new spot a few blocks north. What will replace its longtime retail spot? Will Granville become a bit of a retail ghost town? Is retail space in Vancouver too expensive to fill empty locations?

And in the feature interview segment, speech-language pathologist Patrick Byrne, a self-described “speech detective,” talks about how people with accents face workplace discrimination and what they can do to communicate with confidence.
