$18 million worth of contracts have been agreed by the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance to fund the delivery of new employment services for people with disabilities.
The Neil Squire Society, BC Society of Training for Health and Employment Opportunities and WCG International HR Solutions will provide people with disabilities with pre-employment, planning and employment services through a new employment program. It's expected that 6,000 clients will use the services each year.
The government hopes the program will partially offset the current labour shortage affecting businesses in the province and assist people with disabilities in finding full-time employment.
