Absolute Software signs US$1.7 million contract with U.S. federal agency

Absolute Software Corp. (TSX:ABT), which makes computer theft recovery software, has signed a US$1.7 million contract with an undisclosed U.S. federal agency.

Absolute Software Corp. (TSX:ABT), which makes computer theft recovery software, has signed a US$1.7 million contract with an undisclosed U.S. federal agency.

Under the contract, which is the Vancouver company's largest thus far, Absolute's Computrace Complete theft recovery and data protection system will be deployed in more than 37,000 devices for a three-year term.

The U.S. agency will be able to track and secure the devices with Absolute's firmware-based system. The Computrace Complete system can detect missing hardware and unauthorized software installations. It can also remotely delete sensitive data from computers.
