Travellers can now fly non-stop from Vancouver to New Zealand all year round following Air New Zealand's decision to expand its peak season direct flight between Vancouver and Auckland beginning this November.
The service was previously offered only from November to March to coincide with the busiest travel season between the two cities. Increased demand, however, prompted the airline to expand it year round.
Air New Zealand will offer three non-stop flights per week between November and March and between July and August. The service will be available twice a week for the rest of the year.
Passengers will fly on the airline's new fleet of Boeing 777-200Ers, which feature beds in addition to various entertainment, food and wine options.
The direct flight, which will be code shared with Air Canada, reduces the flying time from Vancouver to New Zealand to roughly14 hours from an average 20 hours.
