Vancouver’s Avigilon Corp.’s security systems have earned yet another award, this time from a prestigious security technology publication based in Sweden.
Avigilon’s Control Center technology received an innovation achievement award from Detektor International as one of the most innovative product offerings of the past 12 months in the closed circuit TV category.
Control Center is a software platform for managing HD video networks.
The platform captures, transmits, manages, stores, archives, plays back and exports high-definition video while handling bandwidth and storage.
The system’s open architecture allows operators to integrate Avigilon’s technology with existing analog and IP cameras, access control and other intrusion systems.
Avigilon, founded in 2004, has been on a roll this year.
It was named by Deloitte as one of the top five fastest-growing technology companies in Canada this past September after posting more than 30,000% revenue growth in the last five years. In June, the British Columbia Technical Industry Association named Avigilon as the emerging company of the year.
Other industry accolades the company received this year include Frost & Sullivan’s Innovation of the Year Award in the new surveillance product category.
