Burnaby's Ballard Power Systems (TSX:BLD) has signed a three-year supply agreement with Oregon-based IdaTech LLC to provide fuel cells for one of IdaTech's backup power modules.
Ballard's fuel cells will be integrated into IdaTech's ElectraGen back power system, which has been tested by several wireless telecommunication companies as a backup power system at remote locations. The units provide either three or five kilowatts of electricity.
The units are scheduled for commercial release in 2009.
