Statistics Canada reported November 30 that B.C. food and beverage sales rose 1.8% between August and September.

That’s the second highest increase among provinces for food and beverage sales at restaurants between those two months.

Between September 2010 and September 2011, B.C. food and beverage sales rose 5.1%, which was less than the Canadian average.

Canada-wide, sales for food and beverages at restaurants rose 5.7% between September 2010 and September 2011 while the price of food bought in restaurants increased 3.1%.
