German perfume and jewelry retailer Thomas Sabo opens its fifth Canadian store Friday in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.
The 1,005-square-foot boutique will feature the company’s Sterling Silver, Watch, Charm Club and Beauty collections, lines that are popular with tabloid stars like Nicky (“Sister of Paris”) Hilton, Snoop Dogg and Robbie Williams. Thomas Sabo opened its first B.C.-based Signature Shop in August at Oakridge Centre.
“Metropolis at Metrotown is the perfect place to continue expanding the Thomas Sabo brand within Canada,” said Philippe Hazan, managing director and CEO of Sabo’s Canadian distributor.
The Ivanhoe Cambridge-owned mall counts 450 stores.
The company has expanded to more than 2,000 boutiques over the last 26 years, including locations in London, Sydney, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Edmonton and Montreal.
Thomas Sabo rescued the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of Germany’s ice hockey league from bankruptcy. The team includes former Vancouver Canuck Brad Leeb.
