Looking for a good team-building project for your business? How about putting together a bike racing team?
Organizers of the first annual University of British Columbia’s Grand Prix Corporate Team Challenge are inviting businesses and organizations to register four-person teams to compete in a race July 12 at 4:30 p.m.
Teams of four will race in a 1.5-kilometre circuit on UBC’s campus. Each team member will complete four laps, for a total of 16 laps. The team with the best time wins. No racing experience is necessary.
Registration costs $750 and includes one day’s worth of insurance for cyclists and four Sugoi cycling jerseys, which will be printed with the team’s company logo. There are 20 spots available.
Post-race, entrants will retire to Mahoney & Sons beer garden to rest and recharge. A total of $10,000 in prizes will be handed out, courtesy of Kintec Footlabs and Sierasill.
Proceeds raised at the Grand Prix will go to the BC Sports Medicine Research Foundation.
