Vancouver-based Blenz Coffee is chipping away at Starbucks Corp.’s dominance as the largest coffee shop chain in the province.
Starbucks has more than 350 retail locations in B.C. – more than five times the 65 B.C. locations that Blenz operates.
“I’m very pleased to say that we’ll be taking over two Starbucks locations in Kelowna,” Blenz CEO George Moen told Business in Vancouver November 30.
He added Blenz has opened seven franchised locations so far this year and has nearly 100 locations worldwide.
That pales in comparison with Starbucks, which is the largest coffeehouse chain, with more than 17,000 stores in 55 countries, including more than 1,000 outlets in Canada.
