Canon Canada opens new western sales headquarters

Canon Canada Inc. is opening a new western sales headquarters for its business solutions division in Vancouver.

Canon Canada Inc. is opening a new western sales headquarters for its business solutions division in Vancouver.

The division’s product line will include networked multifunction devices, digital copiers, printers, scanners, image filing systems and fax machines.

Wayne Doyle, Canon’s senior manager of corporate communications, told BIV in an e-mail Tuesday morning that the company’s expansion downtown is to accommodate a Vancouver team that has doubled in size in the last year.

Roughly 100 employees in the western region will report into the downtown Vancouver location.

Canon has had a presence in the Vancouver area since the mid-1990s.

Doyle said that Canon has discovered that Vancouver customers like to deal directly with the manufacturer and, by having Canon business solutions division opening in downtown Vancouver, the company is satisfying customer’s needs.

Headquartered in Mississauga, Canon employs 1,200 people at its offices nation-wide.

On May 11, the company will have a grand opening for the headquarters that will feature gold medalist snowboarder Maelle Ricker and Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson.
