Canucks tickets fetching four digits

Got tickets for today's Canucks game? If you do, you could make a small fortune, if you want to sell them. If you don’t have tickets, you can always buy some through a reseller, as long as price is no object.

Got tickets for today's Canucks game? If you do, you could make a small fortune, if you want to sell them. If you don’t have tickets, you can always buy some through a reseller, as long as price is no object.

You can still buy tickets to see today’s Stanley Cup playoff game between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins at Rogers Arena. But you are going to have to dig deep – four digits deep.

Resellers like Vancouver-based ShowTimeTickets.com will be selling tickets right up until game time.

“We always have tickets; we’re never sold out,” said ShowTimeTickets CEO Mario Livich. “The only thing that changes is the price, according to supply and demand. We connect buyers and sellers; the marketplace sets the price.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, tickets were selling for $900 for balcony seats and $1,500 for the lower level seats. That’s a 40% to 50% increase over the tickets prices on Monday.

Centre-ice seats were selling for $2,000 to $3,000 each.

“These are the priciest Canucks tickets ever,” Livich said. “It’s a pretty exciting time. We have people coming from all over the world – Canucks fans. It’s about a memory. People pay a premium for a once-in-a-lifetime memory.”

Livich added the resale ticket prices for the deciding game will surpass the prices for tickets for the gold medal hockey game during the 2010 Winter Olympics.
