Richmond's Catalyst Paper Corp. (TSX:CTL) is reducing paper production at its Elk Falls mill in Campbell River due to fibre shortages.
The company will be cutting nine days of production, which will remove about 6,000 tonnes of pulp and 3,500 tonnes of containerboard production. The Elk Falls mill has also been affected by the coastal fibre strike, which has affected 38,000 tonnes of paper production. The mill's main paper machine has been down since September and will remain down until the end of March. Catalyst's share price range during the past week: between $1.46 and $1.57; 52-week high: $4.31; 52-week low: $1.19.
