Climate change research at University of Victoria received a shot in the arm from Bob Wright, president and CEO of Oak Bay Marine Group of Companies, who has donated $11 million to the university.
It's the largest cash gift ever received by the university, and nearly all of the donation will go towards the new Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences building, the headquarters for UVic's climate change research. Of the $11 million donation, $10 million will be directed to the new building, while the remaining $1 million will fund student scholarships.
