A former BIV Top Forty under 40 winner has been recognized by Small Business BC after it named his company, CityMax.com, as the company of the year at its recent annual awards ceremony. Company CEO Dean Gagnon was named a Top Forty under 40 in 2009.
“Every facet of our company is based on helping entrepreneurs make money online, so to be recognized by our peers is truly humbling,” he said.
The website is labelled as an easy-to-use online website builder, but Gagnon wants to take it to the next level.
He told BIV last year. “Our plan is to [become] the easiest online small business website builder, and the next step is really to make it a community of entrepreneurs.”

Judges who were involved in selecting CityMax.com praised the company’s innovative offerings and value proposition as well as strong leadership, vision and involvement in the community.
Small Business BC CEO George Hunter said: “This year, more than 200 applications were received for all four award categories. They were in areas as diverse as retail trade, non-profit, manufacturing, technology services, arts, entertainment and recreation.”
