Premier Christy Clark plans to reveal all remaining planks of her jobs plan later today at a Vancouver Board of Trade luncheon.

She told the Surrey Board of Trade Wednesday that she will offer tax credits to small business investors, encourage skills training, chop red tape and review B.C.’s tax system.

She plans to inject $3 million into the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit program, which helps attract investment for smaller enterprises.

She believes the program will provide $10 million in new capital for eligible businesses.

Clark also extended by three years a $31 million apprenticeship program.

Finance Minister Kevin Falcon, whose first portfolio was deregulation, will head a panel committed to eliminating excess regulations and otherwise streamlining processes.

Earlier this week, Clark revealed her intention to increase the number of international students who study in B.C. by 50% within four years. (See “Clark to boost international student numbers” – BIV Business Today; September 21.)

She also told media her government will contribute $15 million toward a $90 million project to expand capacity at Ridley Island’s terminal. (See “Clark announces funding for Prince Rupert port” – BIV Business Today; September 20.)
