Up-to-date information on the hottest Canadian mineral plays and using social media tools like StockTwits to get investment information are among the topics June 5 and 6 at Cambridge House International’s World Resource Investment Conference in Vancouver.
Howard Lindzon, founder and CEO of StockTwits, will be one of the special guest speakers at conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Jeff Berwick, founder of Stockhouse.com and controversial editor of Dollar Vigilante, is also scheduled to speak. Berwick will outline investment strategies for what he believes is the impending collapse of the American dollar.
But the primary focus of the conference is mineral exploration. Several guest speakers will be talking about some of the most promising junior miners and their deposits around the world.
“The world is going through a shortage of a lot of metals,” Cambridge House International CEO Joe Martin told Business in Vancouver. “Copper prices are high; we need lithium for batteries. Approximately 60%, 65% of all the mineral exploration in the world is done by Canadian companies and their primary headquarters are in Vancouver.”
Many of those companies will be exhibiting this weekend at the conference, which is expected to draw 6,000 people.
The two-day conference will feature more than 40 guest speakers, 350 exhibitions by participating companies, and a variety of workshops.
“What we do is we bring in speakers who can talk knowledgeably about these mineral deposits and what’s happening in the development of these mineable deposits, if they in fact are mineable,” Martin said.
