Vancouver's First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM) reported a 24% increase in copper production for 2007, to 226,693 tonnes.
The bulk of the company's production came from its Kansanshi open pit mine in northern Zambia, which saw a 24% increase in production in the fourth quarter. First Quantum is projecting 2008 copper production to increase another 37% to 310,000 tonnes almost two thirds from its Kansanshi mine.
