The race is on to build downtown Vancouver’s next new office tower, according to a Avison Young report released October 20.
The report reveals that Bentall Capital, Oxford Properties Group and Aquilini Development and Construction are proceeding with plans to construct office buildings on properties they already own, while attractive downtown market conditions are expected to lure other players.
Downtown Vancouver has not had a new office tower project since the second phase of the Bentall Five development was completed in 2007.

Meanwhile, Austeville Properties is proposing a 19-storey, 481,000-square-foot office tower in the 400 block of West Georgia Street by early 2015.
