Everybody loves a deal but coupons have become passé in the Internet era. That’s the business case for Washington, D.C.-based Livingsocial.com. The company launched in November and has expanded to 27 U.S. cities and London, U.K. It is launching a Vancouver version July 13 and is seeking to partner with local businesses.
The website sends members a daily e-mail blast that includes links to businesses providing a 50% to 90% discount. If a member refers friends who sign up for the e-mail, the member is eligible to receive their product or service free.
According to sources close to the company, no Vancouver businesses have agreed to partner with Livingsocial.com to date.
