Downtown business association wins award for riot response

The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association has received an award of excellence from the International Downtown Association for its response to the 2011 Stanley Cup riot, including the Vanlover campaign.

The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association has received an award of excellence from the International Downtown Association for its response to the 2011 Stanley Cup riot, including the Vanlover campaign.

The award recognized the DVBIA’s quick communication with its members post-riot, its media relations efforts, the launch of the Vanlover campaign, and the immediate return of visitors to downtown within a few days after the riot.

The DVBIA also received an award of merit in the Public Spaces category for its joint Re-discover Granville 2.010 campaign on Granville Street last summer with the City of Vancouver.
