An Ontario company dropped gas prices $0.50 per litre at a gas station in Surrey Friday in an attempt to advertise a new business initiative.
Oakville, Ontario-based FlightNetwork significantly decreased the price of gasoline at the gas bar at the corner of 104th Avenue and 167th Street in Surrey Friday to advertise its new price drop protection plan.
The plan allows airline ticket buyersto track price drops after they’ve bought their tickets and then cash in on the savings.
"Our new price drop protection plan takes the guesswork out of booking flights, while our gas Price Drop promotion takes the guesswork out of when to fill up at the pumps," said Jamil al Jabri, FlightNetwork’s marketing manager.
"In either case, it's all about knowing that you have locked in the best deal."
The company said the gas is available from 8 a.m. until it runs out. There is a 50-litre maximum gas purchase per vehicle.
