Burnaby telecommunications firm Glentel Inc. (TSX:GLN) has signed more than $2.4 million in contracts to install wireless communication systems in Regina and Jasper.
In Yellowhead County, Alberta, near Jasper National Park, Glentel will replace the existing wireless communications infrastructure for the region's emergency, transportation and agricultural services.
The $1.4 million project is expected to be completed sometime in January 2008.
In Regina, Glentel has been awarded a $1 million contract for an engineering study to install fixed wireless broadband services throughout the city.
The study will explore the viability of providing a system that not only provides high-speed data services for city staff, but also offers the backbone for video surveillance and mobile data services.
Glentel's share price range during the past week: between $7.99 and $8.06; 52-week high: $9; 52-week low: $5.60.
