A fledgling gas sensor manufacturer has found a green-tech executive to lead its next venture.

Delta-based ATI AirTest Technologies Inc. (TSX-V:AAT) has hired Paul Kacir as CEO of its newly formed subsidiary ClairTec Inc.

Both companies are focused on the development and production of gas sensors that improve operating efficiency in various applications. AirTest’s primary focus is the commercial building market.

Kacir was previously vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary with solar panel manufacturer First Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR).

AirTest president George Graham said Kacir would lead ClairTec from its Arizona office and use his tech industry experience to develop gas sensor technologies that can be sold to equipment manufacturers.

"The idea is he has access to potential networks and a keen interest [in the sector],” said Graham.

While AirTest and ClairTec are focused on sensors that improve operating efficiency for buildings or equipment, Graham said ClairTec would have a broader application base.

With research and development facilities in Santa Barbara, California, he said its technology is designed for use in furnaces, heaters, smoke

detectors and carbon monoxide sensors.

AirTest’s share price range during the past week: unchanged at $0.06; 52-week high: $0.08; 52-week low: $0.03.
