A Vancouver company has secured solar and wind power suppliers for its energy efficient parking lot project in Denver.
Greenscape Capital Group Inc. (TSX-V:GRN) announced Tuesday that U.S.-based companies Windspire Energy Inc. and Evergreen Solar Inc. will provide the wind turbines and solar arrays needed for the Denver green parking project.
Greenscape has touted the US$18 million facility as the “world’s greenest” parking facility. It consists of 4,200-stalls and includes geothermal energy sources as well as solar and wind.
Greenscape said Windspire, formerly Mariah Power Inc., would build eight “ultra-quiet”, 30-foot high vertical access wind turbines for the site.
Evergreen will build the six pole-mounted solar arrays, which Greenscape said have the industry’s lowest voltage per watt.
Greenscape teamed up with Propark America, one of the U.S.’s largest parking management companies, for the project. Construction began in May.
Greenscape CEO Bryan Slusarchuk was unavailable for comment.
