First West Foundation has donated $20,000 to Peace Arch Hospital’s maternity ward for a resuscitation bed.
Burnaby Hospital Foundation raised $16,700 to help purchase two surgical telescopes for Burnaby Hospital. Of the donation, $10,000 comes from the foundation’s win of Metropolis at Metrotown’s Train your Charity challenge.
Scotiabank employees raised $14,880 in the Basics for Babies Campaign founded and operated by JRfm in support of the Lower Mainland Food Bank, which provides families with young infants needed food, diapers and formula.

The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business’ 2011 Aboriginal Business Hall of Fame Awards this year will be presented to Chief Clarence Louie, Osoyoos Indian Band, and Ruth Williams, CEO, All Nations Trust Company, B.C. The awards recognize their accomplishments in achieving sustainable economic development in Aboriginal communities.
