Delta-based helicopter support company Heli-One, an operating division of Richmond-based CHC Helicopter, has just announced a US$2.85-million contract to upgrade the Lithuanian State Border Guard’s fleet of EC-135 aircraft.

This contract follows a US$2.4 million contract the company signed with the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) which includes the integration of a modern Electro Optical/Infra Red Camera System into RNoAF’s fleet of helicopters to enhance visual capabilities during search and rescue.

The company also recently won a US$4 million contract to design major modifications for the installation of Star SAFIRE II FLR system and Goodrich dual rescue hoist for

German Bundespolizei’s Super Puma helicopters.

“One of the things of Heli-One’s strategy is to build up its presence in the third-party maintenance market,” said Andrew Huige, Heli-One’s communications manager, noting that a “big part” of Heli-One’s activities consists of supporting the entire CHC Helicopter fleet.

“Concentrating on third-party work is a really attractive revenue source for the company and it’s something we like to emphasize in addition to the work that we do for CHC,” he said.
