Responding to customer growth in Latin American and other Spanish-speaking markets, Vancouver-based HootSuite Media Inc. has launched a Spanish version of its social media dashboard.
According to the company, Spanish-speaking HootSuite users represent the company’s fastest-growing market, growing at 93% over the last six months relative to an overall growth rate of 68%.
Of these, Spain and Mexico have the highest user counts, and the fastest-growing markets over the past six months have been in El Salvador, Venezuela, Honduras, Guatemala and Puerto Rico, each of which have seen growth of more than100%.
According to the company, Twitter is the most popular social network in Spanish-speaking markets, with Mexico tweeting most, followed by Spain.
To translate the HootSuite web application into Spanish, the company launched a crowd-sourcing translation project, which drew on the skills and time of multiple volunteer translators and coordinators.
“This translation is a result of significant work by passionate HootSuite volunteers who can take pride in knowing their contributions are helping social media fans around the world,” HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes said in a news release.
Calls to the company were not returned by press deadline.
