Vancouver-based Impark has been selected to operate the parking facilities serving Citi Field, the new home for the New York Mets.
Impark, North America's third largest parking management company, will provide event-parking services and manage more than 12,000 parking spaces, including 8,500 in lots adjacent to the stadium and 3,680 in remote lots in surrounding areas.
Because of their proximity, the same parking spaces will be used to serve Flushing Meadows in Corona Park, home of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
Impark was recommended by existing Major League Baseball clients, according to Rob Kasdon, vice-president of security for the New York Mets.
Impark also provides event-parking services to include the San Francisco Giants, the Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Impark employs more than 3,700 employees in 1,900 locations around North America.
