Influential Women in Business award winners named

Business in Vancouver has announced the 2012 winners of the newspaper’s Influential Women in Business awards.

Business in Vancouver has announced the 2012 winners of the newspaper’s Influential Women in Business awards.

This year’s honourees include:

  • Wendy Grant-John, senior adviser to the national aboriginal client services practice at Deloitte;
  • Jill Leversage, financial consultant;
  • Launi Skinner, CEO of First West Credit Union;
  • Kari Yuers, president and CEO of Kryton International Inc.; and
  • Lois Nahirney, executive vice-president, corporate resources, at Teekay Corp.

Elizabeth Harrison, senior partner at Farris LLP, will receive this year’s lifetime achievement award.

For the past 13 years, Business in Vancouver’s IWIB awards have honoured some of B.C.’s most accomplished and prominent female business leaders.

Winners are chosen based on their individual achievements and their ability to inspire business people throughout the province.

A special feature documenting each winner’s contributions to the province’s business sector will be published in BIV’s February 21-27 edition.

This year’s honourees will receive their awards March 6 at the 13th annual Influential Women in Business luncheon at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.
