Internet marketing conference lands in Vancouver

Ever think you’d see Google, Facebook, Bell Media, LinkedIn and the Royal Canadian Mint congregated in the same place at the same time (aside from the numerous tabs open across your laptop)?

Ever think you’d see Google, Facebook, Bell Media, LinkedIn and the Royal Canadian Mint congregated in the same place at the same time (aside from the numerous tabs open across your laptop)?

Representatives of all of these companies and several more Internet and marketing industry leaders are coming together for Internet Marketing Conference Vancouver 2011: an event being held at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel October 3 and 4.

The conference will examine social media and how the marketing landscape has changed online. Key speakers from a large pool of successful companies will tackle the latest in marketing and advertising trends, explore how to maximize content strategy and set effective targets and illustrate the role Internet marketing plays for businesses.

Speakers include:

  • Robb Collins, manager of e-commerce, marketing and communications, Royal Canadian Mint;
  • Gary Fearnall, director of global marketing solutions, LinkedIn;
  • Paula Gignac, president, Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada;
  • Michal Lorenc, manager of dedicated client services, Google Canada; and
  • Aldredo Tan, senior director, Facebook Canada.

The event aims to bring together business owners to learn from industry peers by discussing their successes and challenges.

Key questions will be examined, such as where businesses should be investing in – campaigns, technology or people – what mobile strategies look like and when they’re a good idea.

The conference has already been held in Stockholm and is scheduled to be held in Helsinki and New York following the Vancouver dates.
