British Columbians were a bit less worried about their job security in February, but are more worried about their financial situation, according to RBC's consumer outlook index.
About 27% of B.C. residents were worried about their job, down from 32% in January, a bit above the national average of 25%.
However, only 36% believe their personal financial situation will improve over the next year, which is 7% below the 43% who were optimistic about their financial future in January.
British Columbians were even less confident about their financial situation over the next three months with only 24% believing their personal financial situation will improve over the next quarter compared with 30% nationally.
About 63% of British Columbians said they are delaying major purchases due to current economic conditions, higher than the national average of 57%.
