Passengers on the Canada Line will now be greeted with a bright, interactive wakeup call on their commute to work.
U.S.-based Lamar Advertising Co. (Nasdaq:LAMR) has partnered with Monster Media Canada to light up Vancouver’s public transit system with the companies’ Monster Wall, the first large interactive LCD screen in a Canadian public transit system.
The new fixture is l in one of the Canada Line’s highest traffic stations – Vancouver city centre – at the corner of Granville and West Georgia.
The station experiences more than 750,000 boardings monthly. Telus Corp. (TSX:T) is the first advertiser to launch a campaign on the Monster Wall screen.
Dan Maure, general sales manager, Lamar Transit Advertising Canada Ltd., said “Using motion recognition, touch control and mobile device communication capabilities, the Monster Wall in Vancouver City Station will be sure to capture and hold the attention of daily commuters.
“We are offering 21st century digital solutions to our advertisers with this innovative technology.”
Lamar plans to roll out more interactive units in other high traffic locations inside Vancouver's rapid rail transit system over the next 12 to 18 months.
