Lesley Stowe has achieved enormous success with her Raincoast Crisps and is preparing to expand her brand in the coming months.
While tight-lipped on the specifics, Stowe told Business in Vancouver that it is not simply a new flavour of crisps. It is a venture that requires “expensive” new equipment.
She launched a retail store in 1990 and launched Raincoast Crisps in 2004. They are now sold across North America and generated nearly $10 million in 2010 revenue.
When asked why she had waited so long to develop a new product, Stowe said she wanted to focus on one thing. The business has evolved to the point where she is confident she can do more.
Stowe has been careful to keep the product quiet, although said she has involved others in the industry who are helping test products.
Expect to see something on store shelves by September
