Vancouver's Lions Gate Entertainment (NYSE:LGF) will be distributing its film collection through Apple's iTunes Internet site.
The company will be working with the California-based tech giant to allow iTunes users to download a digital copy of a film that can be viewed on a computer, an iPod Video, iPhone or Apple TV.
Rambo and The Eye will be the first films to be released in the digital format. Others are scheduled to be released later in the year. People who buy DVD versions of Lions Gate films will be able to copy them once into their iTunes library.
Lions Gate is looking to cash in on the 12,000-title film library that it's been collecting over the past few years.
