Local chief financial officers will be honoured at a special awards dinner May 17.
The BC CFO of the Year Award recognizes executives who demonstrate strong leadership in finance and who contribute to their organization’s strategic decision-making and growth.
The awards are sponsored by Business in Vancouver in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
This year’s finalists in the large public company category are:
- Allan Baydala, Port Metro Vancouver;
- John E. Currie, lululemon athletica inc.; and
- Don Leslie, A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund.
Finalists in the small public company category are:
- Sherry Tryssenaar, Ten Peaks Coffee Company (Swiss Water);
- Cindy Turner, Capilano University; and
- Peter Wong, Plutonic Power Corporation.
Finalists in the private company category are:
- Zvonko Maretic, Pharmasave Drugs;
- Stephen Mavety, uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs Ltd.;and
- Michael Taylor, Nicola Wealth Management.
A fourth category is transformation agent, which honours CFOs at non-profits, Crown corporations and small private companies. It also recognizes emerging leaders for their strategic excellence, exceptional growth and leadership.
Winners in the category are:
- Duncan Campbell, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority;
- Sarah Hoffman, Health Care Benefits Trust;
- Terry Krepiakevich, SouthGobi Resources Ltd.;and
- Brian Pettipas, Global Container Terminals Inc.
