Local tech innovator launches new product

Vancouver-based In Motion Technology Inc. announced yesterday the launch of its onBoard Connection Manager (oCM), a mobile-optimized security technology that provides secure IP mobility and sub-second switching in a multi-network environment.

In Motion is focused on mobile networking technologies that efficiently connect and manage equipment, information and people in the field.

“Today’s workforce is highly mobile, equipped with an increasing number of devices and applications, and changes networks as the environment dictates,” the company said in a press release

“This advance enables all devices and applications to communicate securely without adding additional client software to every device.”

In Motion’s technology eliminates session interruptions when secure IP traffic is switched from one wireless network to another.

This “session continuity” is critical for streaming IP-based voice and video applications, such as mobile video collaboration, video virtual back-up at traffic stops, instantaneous situational awareness on transit vehicles, voice over IP based push to talk and mobile telemedicine.

“The introduction of oCM is a key milestone in our vision of ensuring mission critical mobile workforces have flexible, upgradable communications platforms that enable them to quickly and easily leverage the best available wireless network particularly in multi-network environments,” said Larry LeBlanc, In Motion Technology’s chief technology officer and founder.

“Today, workforce productivity is increasingly defined by simple, cost effective access to the right information at the right time, including collaboration with the right team members via voice and video in real time. We view the oCM as a critical component to bringing this experience to the mobile workforce.”
