Sierra Geothermal Power Corp. (TSX-V:SRA) reported a higher net loss for the 14-month period ending December 31, 2007.
The Vancouver company's net loss rose to $2,852,975, or $0.06 a share, compared with $409,491 or $0.05 per share for the 12-month period ending October 31, 2006.
The alternative energy development company said its growth in 2007 included the acquisition of Alberta's Cayley Geothermal Corp., which owns 14 prospective geothermal sites in Nevada and California.
The acquisition expanded Sierra Geothermal's geothermal properties to 17. Five are under development with potential energy generation of between100 megawatts and 205 megawatts.
