Archie Johnston has been elected national industry leader for KPMG’s Canadian public-sector practice. He currently chairs the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC’s public-sector and not-for-profit committee. Johnston was previously chair of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ public-sector accounting board, director of the Government Finance Officers Association of BC and president of the Surrey Board of Trade.

Christopher Vollan has been appointed vice-president of development for Rize Alliance. He was previously vice-president of residential development for Anthem Properties and vice-president of development with Intrawest Placemaking.

Neil Mohindra has been hired as director of the Fraser Institute’s centre for financial policy studies. He was previously policy manager for the joint forum secretariat with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and senior policy analyst at the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
David Wong has been appointed to the board of Vancity Credit Union. He is currently a vice-president at TeeKay Shipping. Wong was previously CFO of BC Hydro’s Powerex Corp.
Norm Attridge has been appointed assistant vice-president of business services for Envision Financial. He was previously director of small-business banking at TD Canada Trust.

Steve Baczko has joined ERA Carbon Offsets Ltd. as director of commercialization. He was previously head of North America voluntary and new markets for EcoSecurities.

Stuart Culbertson has been added to the board of Science World BC. He is currently consulting director for Sierra Systems Consultants Inc. Culbertson previously worked with the Government of B.C. as deputy minister, information, science and technology, and government chief information officer.

Alexandra Nicolas has been appointed director of tour and travel for Coast Hotels & Resorts. She was previously western branch manager for Nanuq Adventure, deputy manager of the tour group department of Maison de la Chine and product manager for Club Adventure.
Michelle Harlington has been appointed sales and marketing manger, charters, for the Vancouver Trolley Company, replacing Kristen Milliron, who has been promoted to sales and marketing manager, trolley services.

Andreas Heiden has joined Lawson Lundell’s corporate commercial group as an associate. He was called to the B.C. and Ontario bars in 2010. Mark Fancourt-Smith has joined the firm’s litigation group. He was called to the B.C. bar in 2003 and was previously with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP.
Valerie Dixon has joined Clark Wilson LLP as partner in the firm’s employment, estate and trust litigation and insurance groups. She was called to the B.C. bar in 2004.

David England has been named principal of Eco Realty Inc.’s commercial division. He previously worked as an investment properties realtor with Colliers International.

Mauricio Candiani Galaz has been appointed to the board of Geologix Explorations Inc. He is currently president and CEO of Candiani Mining, vice-president of the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce and a non-executive chair of Allenamenti. Candiani Galaz was previously a founding partner at Sedna Serficor and executive president of the Mexican National Natural Gas Association.
Andrew Bell has been appointed to the board of Cue Resources Ltd. He is currently chair of Red Rock Resources Plc. Bell was previously a chair of Regency Mines Plc and Greatland Gold Plc and Resource Star Ltd. and a director of Jupiter Mines Ltd.
John O’Donnell has been appointed vice-president of exploration for Callinan Mines Ltd. He was previously senior mine geologist for HudBay Minerals.
Steven Dean has been appointed chair and CEO of Oceanic Iron Ore Corp. He is currently a director of the company. Dean was previously president of Teck Cominco Ltd. (now Teck Resources Ltd.).
John Dyer has been appointed as a consultant and to the board of Los Andes Copper Ltd. He was previously with Anglo American plc.

Peter Read has retired as COO of VendTek Systems Inc. He was also one of the company’s founders.
Victor Choy, COO, has left Fireswirl Technologies Inc. due to the elimination of his position.
