He was previously president of European operations. Scott Pinfield has been appointed interim leader of the flying operations division. He was previously COO and managing director of European operations. Michael O’Neill has joined CHC as chief legal counsel, replacing Martin Lockyer, who has retired. O’Neill was previously senior vice-president and general counsel for the Lenovo Group.

Thomas Palmer and Amrit Bains have joined Patrick Cotter Architect Inc. as project architect and architectural technologist, respectively. Palmer was previously with Oberto Oberti Architects. Bains was previously with Cannon Design.

Michael McNaught has been appointed director of post-secondary for CEI Architecture. He was previously with Lubor Trubka Associates Architects and Moriyama & Teshima Architects. Curtis Knichel, Jim Mann and Patrick Yue have been appointed associates at CEI. Knichel was previously with SmartDesign Group, Ulrich Laska Architectural, WDGC Architects and WZMH Architects. Mann was previously with Jensen Group Architects, Vic Davies Architect and Eric Baker Architect. Yue was previously with DGBK Architects and Frits de Vries Architect.

Dennis Paterson has joined Blackbird Energy Inc. as a director and COO. He was previously president of ROC Oil (Bohai), executive director of ROC Oil Company Ltd. and he formed and managed Genting Oil and Gas Ltd.

Lee Davis has joined PwC as a managing director with the corporate finance practice. He was previously CEO of Vancity Capital Corp.

Gurbinder Mander has been appointed branch manager at Envision Financial’s Newton branch where he was previously assistant branch manager.

Blain Lawson has left his position of president and CEO at Coast Wholesale Appliances Inc.

Sandy Houston has joined the board of Tides Canada. He is president of the Metcalf Foundation, founding partner of Stitt Feld Handy Houston and adviser to the Mowat Centre for Policy Innovation, Imagine Canada, the Ontario Not-for-Profit Network, the Literary Review of Canada and the Walrus.

William Rohn and Amit Sobti have been appointed to the board of Protox Therapeutics Inc. Rohn was previously COO of Biogen-Idec and Sobti is a principal with Warburg Pincus.

Michael Gold has been appointed vice-president, clinical development, and chief medical officer of Allon Therapeutics Inc. He was previously vice-president, neuroscience medicines, at GlaxoSmithKline Inc.

Shu Naito has been appointed senior vice-president of Coast Hotels & Resorts. He was previously the company’s executive vice-president and corporate secretary, and vice-president of Okabe North America Inc.

Ted Hara has joined the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts as a baking and pastry arts instructor. He was previously executive pastry chef at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

Simon Margolis has been appointed managing partner at Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP. He was previously practice area leader of the commercial litigation group.

Lisa Slater has become a partner and Elaine Tham has joined as an associate at Davis LLP. Slater was previously an associate in the family law practice. Tham was previously in-house legal counsel to CHC Helicopter.

Paul Purewal has joined Avison Young as an industrial sales and leasing associate. He previously held the same position at Macdonald Commercial and was negotiator and manager at Dixons Countrywide.

Sukh Sidhu has been appointed president of RE/MAX Little Oak Realty where he was previously president-elect and a director.

Larry Buzan and William Petrie have joined the board of Guerrero Exploration Inc. Buzan is president, CEO and director of Canadian Energy Exploration Inc. Petrie is president and CEO of Birch Lake Energy Inc. and Marengo Petroleum Corp.

Sonya Atwal joins Crosshair Exploration & Mining Corp. as CFO. She was previously the company’s controller.

Greg Stewart, COO and director of United Mining Group, Inc. (UMG), and Herrick Lau have resigned as chair and director of the company, respectively. Graham Clark, Jr., has been elected to non-executive chair of UMG. Clark is a corporate mining lawyer and was previously senior vice-president and general counsel at Newmont Mining Corp. Fred Brackebusch has been appointed to the board of directors. He is president and chair of New Jersey Mining Co.

Stephan Bogner has joined Hard Creek Nickel Corp. as a corporate communications consultant, Germany.

Salvador Huerta has been appointed CFO of Aurcana Corp., Paul Matysek has joined the board and Ken Collison and Jerry Blackwell have joined the company’s technical advisory committee. Huerta was previously CFO of TIMEX, HJ Heinz, ALFA Group and San Luis - Rassini Automotive Group. Matysek was previously president and CEO of Potash One Inc. and Energy Metals Corp. Collison was previously COO of Thompson Creek Metals and Blackwell is director and president of Gitennes Exploration Inc.

Alec Peck has been appointed CFO of Redstar Gold Corp. He was previously vice-president, corporate finance, at CM Oliver and Canaccord Capital Corp. He replaces Paddy Nicol who has resigned as CFO and from the board of Redstar.

Jim Sparling and Bill Hay have joined Skyline Gold Corp. as COO and geographic information systems (GIS) manager, respectively. Sparling was previously senior exploration geologist with Hudson Bay Exploration & Development and exploration manager with Exploration Syndicate Inc., Hawthorne Gold Corp. and StrataGold Corp. Hay was previously GIS manager and lands manager for Canterra Minerals Corp. and GIS manager for Hawthorne Gold Corp. and StrataGold Corp.

Greig Hutton has joined Salazar Resources Ltd. as manager of investor relations. He was previously in investor relations at Continuum Resources and Terra Ventures.

Garry Clark has been appointed to the board of Mineral Mountain Resources Ltd., replacing Mark Kilby, co-founder of Mineral Mountain who remains as manager of the Kootenay Arc gold project. Clark runs Clark Exploration Consulting.

Karl Cahill has joined the Western Uranium Corp. as an investor relations consultant. He was previously investor relations manager for Raptor Pharmaceutical Corp.

Stephen Rea has been appointed an independent director of Channel Resources Ltd. He was previously vice-president of NCP Northland Capital Partners’ Asia banking division.

Gordon Chunnett has been appointed to the board of Pacific North West Capital Corp. He is head of platinum geology and exploration at Anglo Platinum Ltd.

Ron Simkus has resigned from the board of AQM Copper Inc.

Fred Tummonds has been appointed vice-president of product at Vivonet Inc. He was previously vice-president of enterprise reporting at Business Objects and co-founder and chief technology officer at Indicee.
