Sue Paish has joined the Rick Hansen Foundation board. She is currently CEO of Pharmasave Drugs National Ltd. and a director of LifeLabs, CORIX, the Michael Smith Foundation and the UBC Sauder School of Business. Paish was previously managing partner of Fasken Martineau’s Vancouver office and a director on the boards of: ICBC, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, Women’s Hospital Foundation and BCIT Foundation.

Ashley Kroening has joined the Arthritis Society, B.C. and Yukon division, as manager, special events. She previously co-ordinated the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Weekend to End Breast Cancer and Underwear Affair, among other events.

Brian Martin has been named director of national accounts for the CanWel+Broadleaf division of CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd. He was previously with Weldwood, MacMillan Bloedel and Weyerhaeuser.

Richard Hopp has been appointed president and CEO of Run of River Power Inc. He is currently a technical adviser to Clean Energy BC. Hopp was previously vice-president of business development for Elemental Energy Inc.

Jeff Meerman has been named manager of corporate communications for TD Bank Financial Group. He was previously with Bell Canada.

Mark Weeks has been appointed president and CEO of International Direct Response Services, where he was previously general manager. Prior to that, Weeks was general manager of TV Week magazine and specialty publishing for Canada Wide Media.

Milton Woensdregt has resigned as CFO of Great Canadian Gaming Corp. Kiran Rao, currently the company’s vice-president of corporate finance and controller, has been appointed interim CFO.

Michael Barenberg and Kory MacKenzie have been named account managers for Vivid Graphics Ltd. Barenberg was previously West Coast territory sales manager for 3vis Inc. MacKenzie was a sales consultant for UniFirst Corp.

Shakeel Bhatti has been appointed president of the BC Pharmacy Association, of which he was previously vice-president. Greg Shepherd is the new vice-president.

Merle Alexander has been named a partner within Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP’s First Nations Group. Tamara Olding has also joined the firm’s First Nations Group, as an associate. Previously with Boughton Law Corp., Alexander was called to the Yukon bar in 2002 and B.C. and Ontario bars in 2001. A member of Saulteau First Nation, Olding was previously with Boughton. She was called to the B.C. bar in 2008.

Lani Jo Weaver has joined eCo Realty Inc. as managing broker. She is currently a director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and president of its commercial division, director of the BC Commercial Council, past president of the REIC Greater Vancouver chapter and past president of the CCIM Western Canada chapter. Weaver was previously manager at Royal Pacific Realty.

Larry Treadgold has been appointed to the board of ICS Copper Systems Ltd. He was previously with BSG Resources, first as director of metallurgy and later as director and chief metallurgical officer. Prior to that, Treadgold was president of Noranda Minerals Inc.’s precious metal subsidiary and superintendent of Ndola Copper Refineries and precious metals plant.

Darryl Clark has been appointed vice-president of exploration for East Asia Minerals Corp. He was previously country manager, Vale Mongolia; general manager, Vale Minerals Exploration Australasia; and geology manager, MinEx BHP Billiton.

Joseph Ringwald has joined the board of Belmont Resources Inc. He was previously vice-president, project development, Brett Resources Inc.; vice-president, technical services and sustainable development, Tournigan Energy Ltd.; technical director, mining, Amec Americas Ltd.; vice-president, project development, Crew Development Corp.; senior mining engineer, SRK Consulting; and senior mining engineer, Placer Dome Technical Services Ltd.

Irfan Shariff has been appointed corporate secretary of Spur Ventures Inc. He most recently worked with Spur on a consulting basis.

Thomas Cavanagh has been appointed president and director of Mira Resources Corp. Founder of CSB Petroleum, he previously worked with United Meridian Co. as exploration geophysicist, chief geophysicist and vice-president of new business development, and senior geologic adviser with Saudi Aramco. Prior to that, Cavanagh was a senior exploration physicist at Exxon.
