Howard Donaldson has been appointed president of DigiBC0. He was previously vice-president, studio operations, for Disney Interactive Studios and CFO of EA Canada.

John Kewley has joined the Canadian Construction Association’s board as provincial vice-chair representing the BC Road Builders & Heavy Construction Association. He is president of BA Blacktop Ltd.

Scott Badcock has been appointed CFO of Nextraction Energy Corp. He is a chartered accountant and was previously with Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche.

Andrew Griezic, Steve Zhu and Murray Johnson have been promoted to executive engineers at Buckland & Taylor Ltd. Griezic and Zhu were previously project managers and senior engineers with the company. Murray was previously project manager and senior engineer at Buckland & Taylor and principal at M.M. Johnson Ltd.

Catherine Roome has been appointed president and CEO of the BC Safety Authority where she was previously COO and vice-president of engineering.

Christine Day has joined the board of the Rick Hansen Foundation. She is the CEO of Lululemon Athletica and was previously president of the Asia Pacific group of Starbucks Coffee International.

Kay Gray of Grant Thornton LLP has been appointed chair, Morna Creedon of Replay Resorts Inc. has been named vice-chair, Margaret Voth has joined as treasurer and Cali Mancia of Stewart Feenie Barristers and Solicitors has been appointed secretary of the board of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. Maninder Dhaliwal of Lumiere Concepts, Gayla DeHart of Nurse Next Door Home Healthcare Services, Stephanie Hayes of Avantage Partners, Martina Lee of ICBC, Bina Mehta of KPMG, Susan Tomaine of Blake, Cassels and Graydon LLP, Jennifer Trost of Trost Consulting, Sandra Wear and Shauna Wilton of CHC Helicopter have been named directors.

Norm Norris has been appointed executive in charge of communications and marketing at Mountain Equipment Co-op. He was previously senior marketing manager at Apple Inc.

George Baugh has joined St. Regis Fine Wines & Spirits as general manager. He runs Wine Rhapsody and was previously owner and manager of Piccolo Mondo Restaurant.

Paul Nash and Bruce Hoffman have joined MusicFest Vancouver as marketing manager and communications manager, respectively.Nash is principal of Paul Nash Design and Hoffman is director of communications for Chor Leoni Men’s Choir, marketing director of Elektra Women’s Choir and principal of Brucecat Communications.

Mark Frein and David Gibbons have been promoted to corporate partners at The Refinery. Frien was previously senior associate in the learning strategies group at Simon Fraser University. Gibbons was previously director of client services and senior consultant with the company.

Terry Thies and Ian Whitchelo have joined Avison Young as principal and senior vice-president, leasing and sales; and leasing and sales associate. They previously held the same positions with Colliers International.

Joelle Wendt has joined Upcountry Properties Group as vice-president, acquisitions and investments. She was previously a senior financial analyst with Colliers International.

Graham Clark has been appointed president, CEO and director of Golden Fame Resources Corp. He was previously senior vice-president of Newmont Mining Corp.

John Shanahan has been appointed a director of Mediterranean Resources Ltd. He is the president and CEO of Revett Minerals.

Douglas Lang has been appointed to the board of Fire River Gold Corp. He is an independent consultant and was previously CFO for the City of Campbell River. He is a director and past board chair of Coastal Community Credit Union.

Allan Bezanson has been appointed to the board of Range Energy Resources Inc. He is the managing partner of Cornerstone Capital Partners and was previously president and partner at Oballan Capital and Osprey Capital.

Keith Matthew and Paul Sweeney have been appointed as advisers to the board of Yellowhead Mining Inc. Matthew is the former chief of Simpcw First Nation. Sweeney is a consultant with Plutonic Power Corp. and was previously vice-president and CFO of Canico Resource Corp. and CFO and corporate secretary of Manhattan Minerals Inc.

Gerry Miller, executive vice-president, finance, and CFO of West Fraser, announced he will retire in July. Larry Hughes, senior vice-president and secretary, will become vice-president, finance, and CFO upon Miller’s departure.

Troy Gill has joined the board of Cap-Ex Ventures Ltd. He is vice-president of exploration at Guerro Exploration Inc. and exploration manager of Sanatana Diamonds Inc. He was previously team leader of Pilbara Iron Ore with Rio Tinto.

Robert Butchart has been appointed president and CEO of Cadan Resources Corp., replacing Brett Taylor, who has resigned. Butchart was previously COO and a board member of the company.

John Wakeford has been appointed to the board of Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. He is senior vice-president, corporate development.

Harold Motaung has been appointed CEO of Anooraq Resources Corp. He succeeds Philip Kotze, who continues as a consultant. Motaung was previously executive director of Anooraq, a director and deputy chief inspector with the South African Department of Minerals and Energy and is a founding member of Atlatsa Holdings (Pty) Ltd.

Quinton Hennigh has been appointed president and CEO of Galliard Resources Corp., replacing Robert Bick. Hennigh is president of Evolving Gold Corp. and a director of NV Gold Corp., Simba Gold Corp. and Gold Canyon Resources Inc.

John Tapics has been appointed to the board of Lions Gate Metals Inc. He is CEO of Compliance Energy Corp. and is on the board of Copper Mountain Mining Corp. and was previously president and CEO of the Alberta Electric System Operator.

Garth Kirkham has been appointed to the board of Kaminak Gold Corp. He is founder of Kirkham Geosystems, chair of the geological society of the Canadian Institute of Mining and councillor for APEGBC.

Peter Wilson, William Thomas and Paul Lindsay have joined Sono Resources Inc. as president and director; CFO and director; and director, respectively. Wilson was previously the president and director of Hana Mining Ltd. Thomas is CFO of Mainland Resources and was previously CFO for Hana Mining and director of business services with Kerr McGee Corp. Lindsay was previously a consultant to Koidu Holdings, a mining manager for Anglo Gold Ashanti and a senior mining engineer for De Beers.

Stephen Potts has been appointed vice-president, exploration, for Commander Resources Ltd. He replaces Bernard Kahlert, who moves to vice-president, corporate development. Potts was previously environmental project manager and drilling manager for Phoenix Enterprises Ltd. and chief geologist for Lonrho Platinum.

Brad Marchant has announced his retirement as CEO of BioteQ Environmental Technologies, Inc. He will continue as a consultant. David Kratochvil will take on Marchant’s responsibilities along with his role as president and COO until a replacement is found.

Alan Hoverd has resigned from the board of Streetlight Intelligence Inc.
