Larry Okotinsky has joined the Alzheimer Society of BC as director of finance and administration. He was previously with the Fraser Health Authority.

Miles Prodan has joined the BC Wine Institute as executive director. He was previously international market development specialist and executive director at the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association.

Lorelei Quiding has been appointed president of the Consumer Advocacy and Support for Homeowners Society, where she was previously a director.

Kelvin Stretch has been named chair of the Certified Management Accountants Society of BC (CMASBC) board. He is currently secretary-treasurer, School District No. 73 (Kamloops/Thompson). Todd Senft has been elected chair of the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA). He is president of reVISION Custom Home Renovations Inc. Other newly elected executive committee members are: first vice-chair Ben Taddei, ParkLane Homes Ltd.; second vice-chair Blake Hudema, Genstar Development Co.; and secretary/treasurer Avtar Johl, Platinum Group of Companies. Peter Roskell of Polygon Homes Ltd. is immediate past chair. Judy Brooks, partner at Bravo Lima Oscar; Cheryl Carter, vice-president at BIV Media Group; and Sandra Miles, president and CEO at Miles Employment Group Ltd. have been elected to the board at Small Business BC.

Jay Robinson has been elected president of the BC Chiropractic Association. He was previously team chiropractor and medical adviser for the former Vancouver Griffins of the National Women’s Hockey League.

Sonia Manson has joined BRANDFX Advertising, Design and Interactive Inc. as account director. She was previously principal of Sage Marketing and Business Consulting, marketing director, rebrand, for Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp. and senior brand manager/account representative for Weston Bakeries.

Andrew Petter has been installed as Simon Fraser University’s president and vice-chancellor. He was previously dean of law at the University of Victoria and former B.C. attorney general.

Tom Loski has been appointed vice-president of customer service for Terasen Gas Inc. and FortisBC Inc., where he was previously chief regulatory officer.

Thane Stenner has been named managing director, Canada, of TIGER 21. He is founder of Stenner Investment Partners and a director of wealth management at Richardson GMP. Richard Deacon has been named TIGER 21’s director of strategic partnerships. He is owner of RJD III Media Inc. and Saddle Up Media, and national business developmentmanager at the Globe and Mail. Both will continue to retain their current positions and duties.

John Schwenk has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as client service director. He was previously an account executive with Ariba and channel manager, Canada, for Sophos.

Kevin Kerr has been named artistic director of the Electric Company Theatre, of which he is founder. He was previously the University of Alberta’s Lee playwright in residence.

Ken Shaver has been appointed CEO of Brookside Foods Ltd. He was previously president of the company and, prior to that, held senior marketing and sales positions with Adams Brands, Cadbury and Nestle.

Donna Louis, CFO of Leading Brands, Inc. has resigned in order to pursue a different type of opportunity closer to her home.

Bryan Brooking has joined GNA Consulting Group as an associate. He was previously principal consultant with EDS, now part of Hewlett Packard.

John Hsuan has been appointed to the board of Pacgen Biopharmaceuticals Corp. He is currently chair of NCTU Venture Capital, Ltd., NTCU Spring Venture Capital Co., Ltd., Maxima Capital Management, Inc. and Faraday Technology Corp., and emeritus vice-chair of United Microelectronic Corp.

Larry Gontovnick has retired as vice-president of research and development at WEX Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Kyle Hannay has been appointed director of global operations for Ziptrek Ecotours. He previously was general manager of retail and rental and director of rental operations at Intrawest and general manager of sales for Whistler Blackcomb.

Oliver Hanson has joined Clark Wilson LLP as an associate with the business litigation, construction and procurement, and insurance groups. He was called to the Alberta bar in 2005 and the B.C. bar in 2010. Rachelle Mezzarobba has also joined the firm as an associate with the business law group. She was called to the B.C. bar in 2010.

Willa Duplantis has joined Lawson Lundell LLP as a research associate in its research and opinions group. She previously articled with Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang LLP and was called to the BC bar in 2010.

Glen Bell of Bell Lawyers has been named president of the BC Arbitration and Mediation Institute. Jane Nahirny has joined British Columbia magazine as editor in chief. She was previously communicationsdirector for the Canadian Sporting Goods Association.

Amyn Somani has been appointed CEO of Kazawest Services Inc. He was previously vice-president of corporate services at Panago Pizza Inc. and, prior to that, was with Telus Corp. and Microsoft Corp. Somani is currently on the board of the CIO Association of Canada and Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Greater Vancouver.

Patrick Smith has been appointed president and CEO of Heatherdale Resources Ltd. He is a member of the Alaska Miners Association and, prior to joining Heatherdale, was managing director of exploration at Rio Tinto.

Gordon Peake has been appointed director of lands for Tigris Uranium Corp. Ron Driscoll has been appointed manager of corporate assets. Peake was previously vice-president of lands for Uranium One Americas, Inc. and Energy Metals Corp. Driscoll was previously manager of corporate assets and property specialist for Energy Metals and, prior to that, founder and owner of Driscoll & Co.

Darren Vucurevich, previously a director of the company, has been appointed CFO of Diamcor Mining Inc. He has been a director of the company since 2005.

Donn Burchill and Paul Wang have been elected directors of Colombian Mines Corp. Burchill was previously controller for Quest Capital Corp. Wang is currently president and director of General Metals Corp.

John Clarke has been appointed interim president of Great Quest Metals Ltd. He was previously president and CEO of Nevsun Resources.

Robert Martinez has been appointed to the board of Riverstone Resources Inc. He was previously with Phelps Dodge Corp., AMAX Inc., Amselco Minerals and Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp.

Blayne Johnson has joined the board of Edgewater Exploration Ltd. He is currently chair of Featherstone Capital Advisors Inc. and a director of Calibre Mining Corp.

Derek Liu has been appointed CFO of Prophecy Resource Corp. He was previously controller of Silvercorp Metals Inc.

Gordon Bub has resigned as a director of the Gold Hawk Resources Inc. board. Kevin Drover, Gold Hawk president and CEO, has been appointed chair.

April Hashimoto has been appointed CFO of Paget Minerals Corp. She was previously CFO for Pacific Rim Mining Corp.

Ralf Kleine has been appointed president of Starcore International Mines Ltd. He was previously a member of the company’s technical advisory board and president of Asamera Minerals Inc.

Warren Stanyer has been added to the board of ESO Uranium Corp. He was previously with Pioneer Metals Corp., UEX Corp. and Northern Continental Resources Inc.

Bruce Youngman has been appointed chair of the board of Strategic Metals Ltd. He was previously president and COO of Canplats Resources Corp.

Fred Tubman has been appointed to the board of Centurion Minerals Ltd. He is currently a lecturer in corporate law at the legal studies post-graduate program of the faculty of law, Universitas Indonesia.

Miles Vasey and David Critchley have been named director of service delivery and director of technology, respectively, at Priority Automation Inc. Vasey was previously technical services service delivery manager at MYRA Systems Corp. Critchley was previously Priority’s senior software developer.

Alex Garden has been appointed to the board of OneMove Technologies Inc. He is currently general manager of customer experience for Xbox LIVE with Microsoft Corp. Prior to joining Microsoft, Garden was CEO and co-founder of Relic Entertainment, founder of iVALET Systems Inc. and CEO of Nexon Publishing North America.
