Marilyn Palmer has been appointed director of Zeidler Partnership Architects’ B.C. practice. Prior to joining the firm, she was principal, Carruthers & Associates Architects.

Tamara Vrooman has joined the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. board. She is currently president and CEO of Vancity.

Garnet McElree has joined Grow Communications as vice-president and executive creative director. He was previously associate vice-president and creative director for Blitz Direct, Cossette Communication Group.

Jamie da Silva has been appointed acquisitions/development manager for Boffo Developments Ltd. He was previously a development/sales manager for a privately held development company and an investment properties broker with CB Richard Ellis.

Kris Bulcroft has been invested as president and second vice-chancellor, Capilano University. She was previously provost and vice-president for academic affairs, Franklin College, and professor of sociology and vice-provost for undergraduate education, Western Washington University.

Dan Gibbons has been named corporate relations director for Nextraction Energy Corp. He was previously with Portal Resources Ltd. and Nevada Pacific Gold.

Rick Ironside has been appointed president of Thunderbird Energy Corp. He was previously COO of Defiant Energy Inc. and president and CEO of Defiant Resources Corp. Rupert Evans has been appointed vice-president of geosciences for Thunderbird Energy. He was previously a geological consultant for the company.

Ken D’Sena has been appointed vice-president, investment services, for Envision Financial. Prior to joining Envision as regional manager, wealth management, he was with CIBC.

Robert Withers has been appointed to the board of Newstrike Capital Inc. He is currently chair of PRT Forest Regeneration Income Fund and was previously a director of HSBC Capital (Canada) Inc.

Yale Loh has been appointed to the board of Greenscape Capital Group Inc. He is currently treasurer, BC Hydro & Power Authority. Loh was previously senior manager of treasury management at Citizens Bank of Canada.

Mark Powell is stepping down as CFO of Boston Pizza International Inc. He is also resigning as director and CFO of Boston Pizza GP Inc., managing general partner of Boston Pizza Royalties Ltd. Partnership and administrator of the Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund.

Moira Ong has been appointed CFO of Neurokine Pharmaceuticals Inc. She was previously senior manager at Grant Thornton LLP.

Winnie Chan has joined the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver as catering sales manager. She was previously sales manager with Events on the Move and has held sales positions at the Sutton Place Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia and Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside.

James Bond has been appointed Queen’s Counsel by B.C. Attorney General Michael de Jong. Bond is currently a partner with Lang Michener LLP.

W.E. (Bill) Dumont has been appointed to the Forest Practices Board, B.C. Ministry of Forests, Lands and Mines. He is currently a consultant. Dumont was previously CEO of Sarawak Forestry Corp. and chief forester, Western Forest Products.

Gordon Macatee has been appointed head of the B.C. Ferry Commission, replacing Martin Crilly. Macatee was previously a project executive with VANOC and deputy minister for the Ministry of Health Services, Ministry of Labour and Citizens’ Services, Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection and Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Lisa Riley has been added to the board of Scorpio Gold Corp. She is currently an independent consultant for mining companies. Riley was previously vice-president and director, equity sales, TD Securities.

Ben Whiting has been appointed to the board of Arco Resources Corp. He is currently chief geologist for Orko Silver Corp. and Orex Minerals Inc. and is on the technical committee of the joint venture between Orko and Pan American Silver Corp.

Stephen Quin is resigning as president of Capstone Mining Corp. but will continue as a director of the company.

Roger Moss and Quinton Hennigh have been appointed to the board of EurOmax Resources Ltd. Moss was previously with Amerigo Resources Ltd., Nikos Explorations Ltd. and Los Andes Copper Ltd. Hennigh was previously president and chief geologist of Evolving Gold Corp. Aurora Davidson has been named CFO of EurOmax. She was previously CFO for Amerigo.

Hugh Abercrombie has been appointed president of New Pacific Metals Corp. Peter Torn has been appointed corporate secretary. Abercrombie was previously vice-president, exploration, and, later, business development, with Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. Torn is a securities and corporate commercial lawyer.

Ezequiel Sirotinsky has been appointed CFO of Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. He was previously director of finance for Silver Standard Resources, Inc. and administrative and finance manager for AngloGold Ashanti Ltd.

Timothy Janke has been appointed to the board of Strathmore Minerals Corp. He is currently vice-president and COO of Renaissance Gold. Janke was previously with Utah International, Pathfinder, Homestake, Glamis and Goldcorp.

Eddy Canova has been appointed vice-president of exploration for Caza Gold Corp. He was previously vice-president of exploration for Alexandria Minerals.
