Richmond-based MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX:MDA) has been selected to provide concept designs to the Canadian Space Agency for Canada's possible role in future lunar space missions.
As part of the $1.8 million contract, MDA will be working with other companies and universities across Canada throughout 2009 to create a human lunar rover design and develop robotics to service space vehicles in orbit.
MDA's work is part of the CSA's review of how Canada can participate in new space exploration initiatives with NASA and other international space agencies.
