Ritchie Bros. breaks its previous Canadian auction record

Two months after completing its largest Canadian auction, Richmond-headquartered Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (TBC, NYSE:RBA) has broken another record by selling $61 million worth of trucks and industrial and agricultural equipment in Edmonton.

Two months after completing its largest Canadian auction, Richmond-headquartered Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (TBC, NYSE:RBA) has broken another record by selling $61 million worth of trucks and industrial and agricultural equipment in Edmonton.

The three-day auction broke local records for largest gross auction sales, number of items sold, number of consignors, online gross auction sales and number of online buyers. More than 4,500 lots were sold at the auction, which had more than 4,600 registered bidders from 20 countries.

Approximately 900 registered bidders participated in the auction, either in person, online or in real time using the company's online rbauctionBid-Live bidding service. Almost 200 Internet bidders bought roughly $9 million worth of trucks and equipment.

Ritchie Bros' share price range during the past week: between $61.43 and $63.40; 52-week high: $73.54; 52-week low: $53.55.
